Thief writes apology letter after stealing in Mymensingh

An incident of stealing took place at a shop of Musholli Bazar under Nandail in Mymensingh on Friday night. The owner found an apology letter when he entered the shop in the next morning (Saturday).

The thief in the letter wrote, “Rafiq vai, I am sorry for looting your shop. Please forgive me. I am the one among your acquaintances. I have to face too many hazards while taking the goods by Auto (auto-rickshaw).

The incident has drawn a widespread attraction in the area.

The shop owner said, “I went home after locking the shop on Friday night. In the next morning, I found all locks were cut off. In such a situation, I opened the shutter and found everything, including Tk 10,000 in cash, was stolen. The incident has incurred a loss of worth Tk 4,00,000. At one stage, I noticed a piece of paper on the cash box. I was dazed after reading the six lines letter. I feel shocked in such an incident.”

On information, sub-inspector (SI) Subrato Saha of Nandail Thana visited the spot and suggested to file case in the matter.
